Mozart Concerto No. 27 In B Flat K595 (Edition For 2 Pianos)
According to the autograph entry in the composer´s own list of works, the Piano Concerto in Bb major K595, Mozart´s final work in this genre, was completed on 5 January 1791. The composer performed the work during his - as far as we know - final public appearance as soloist on 4 March 1791 in Vienna as part of an academy given by the clarinettist Joseph Beer.
As reported in the Wiener Zeitung on 12 March 1791: Herr Kapellmeister Mozart played a concerto on the fortepiano, and all admired his art not only of composition but of execution as well.
The success of the work is probably also reflected in its unusually quick appearance in print shortly thereafter.
