Mozart’s sonatas for violin and keyboard span a period of some twenty-five years, his earliest such works having been published in 1764, just two years after he had learned to play the violin at the age of six! This fifth volume in Takako Nishizaki’s recording of the complete Violin Sonatas features the richly melodic and technically demanding Sonata No. 15, with the Sonata No. 16, described as ‘a little piano sonata for a beginner with violin’.
