Franz Schubert wrote his Sonata in A minor for arpeggione and piano in 1824 at the suggestion of the Viennese musician Vinzenz Schuster. This volume is based on the Urtext of the New Schubert Edition; the solo part has been arranged for performance on the flute while the piano part is identical to Schubert´s original as presented in the New Schubert Edition. This enables players to follow the discrepancies between the original and the arrangement.
