The rebirth of a legendary Les Paul

The original '59 Les Paul Standard guitar established the Les Paul as a staple of the rock-music world. Although Gibson only shipped about 640 Les Paul Standards in 1959, by the mid '60s, their new slimmer profile neck and transparent finish (a major departure from the Goldtop) caught the attention of a whole new generation of musicians. The accuracy of the details go all the way down to the straight-line positioning of the 1959 Reissue Les Paul's vintage-style tulip tuners, the size and shape of the acrylic trapezoid block inlays, and the '50-style long neck tenon joint. Burstbucker pickups deliver vintage PAF tone

Gibson Custom paid just as much attention to the 1959 Reissue Les Paul's electronics as they did to its aesthetics. Beginning with vintage CTS potentiometers and bumble bee capacitors, every part of its internal signal path is designed to give you absolutely dead-on '59 Les Paul tone. Of course, it's next to impossible to find genuine '50s PAFs (even for Gibson). Instead, the 1959 Reissue Les Paul sports a pair of Gibson's Burstbucker Alnico II humbuckers with historically unmatched bobbin windings.
